Yes, but didn't your mother tell you to stay off motorcycles? Didn't she tell you how dangerous they really are? Remember that, well, you know there is a reason for this, as the longer we live the more horror stories we hear about motorcycle accidents and they are not very fun to read about in the newspapers. If you ever have the chance to see a bad motorcycle accident where someone dies or is permanently injured, you'll never forget it.
So now you bought yourself a race bike and you watch the races on TV and think you want to get into motorcycle racing. Well, I've done a bit of that myself and let me tell you that your winnings never really keep up with your medical bills, so unless you are a sponsored rider with all the best of everything, perhaps you might want to ask your insurance carrier about what they think of all this.
You see, there are two-types of riders as we say in Motorcycle Racing; Those who have crashed and those who will. Anyone who has racing a long time will tell that, and if they deny it, they are either naïve or purporting a falsehood at your future expense. Hey, you know, I'd love to sugar coat this issue for you and tell you that you will never crash and that it is a rarity, but, I am not going to sit here and lie to you. Rather, I would much prefer talking straight and letting you know the truth. Something Serious to Contemplate in 2008.
